"Fundação do Câncer" selected for Motionserved.com
Wow! I just got this email telling me that my "Fundação do Câncer" video has been selected to be showcased at motionserved.com
Check this out:

http://www.motionserved.com/

It is a great honor to be among great talents!

For those who didn´t check the video yet, you can see it on the gallery. I know.... I know... the video looks like crap but I didn´t find out yet the best way to upload videos to it without getting this annoying jaggy resolution. Tips are welcome.

Meanwhile, you can see a better version of it here:

What is this about French creativity?
Got it from a Facebook Discussion Board.

What can I say?! That´s AMAZING. It is incredible how they manage to create an appealing character with such a extremely simple rig.

French... it is always them... One day I will find out what they have for breakfast... maybe it is something on the water?!

I friend of mine just sent me this link with this GREAT video commercial.

It has been made by 1AveMachine and Passion Pictures and it perfectly illustrates what can happen when you have a great team working on a great idea.

Congrats for everybody who worked on this film!

A child´s Smile
Hey everybody! Well, my plan was to write again only in 2009 but someting happened today and I believe that is worth it.

I was walking on the street and passed in front of a Pacheco Drugstore. This is the drugstore I´ve been making illustrations for with the Pacheco Family.

Anyway, there was a small display with several copies of theirs monthly publication and I noticed that there was a small kid, 6 years old top, holding a copy of it on his hands and looking to the cover with eyes wide open and with a huge smile on this face. He was looking at the December edition which you can check here:

http://features.cgsociety.org/newga...69430_large.jpg

I stopped walking immediately and just stared at him. He was literally checking every single detail I´d put in it. Then his mom, who was talking to another woman suddenly started to walk away from the drugstore, but the boy kept looking at the cover, dazzled.

That blew me away. I know it sounds a little cliche but that was the first time I actually saw the effect of my work affecting somebody and that felt great. Specially because it was a kid and children don´t measure their reactions, they just express what they feel. I wonder how artists who works on feature movies feel when they to the movies and see whole bunch of children, an adults, laughing out loud of the work they did. I must be awesome.

I hope one day I can write about it here on my blog... wish me luck!
